Scholarships, Bursaries & Awards

We encourage Saddle Lake Post Secondary students to research the many scholarships that are available to you. Please verify deadlines and review application criteria for any incentives, don’t take a chance and miss out.

Scholarships are cash awards that are given to selected students primarily based on their academic performance in a specific area. Scholarships are provided by government, educational institutions or by private organizations.

A Bursary is a non-repayable grant that are given out by universities, colleges and other organizations to students who demonstrate a financial need.

Awards are given to students based on performance and highlight a students excellence in that field.

Dallas Cardinal - ATCO Indigenous Education Awards

Dallas Cardinal is one of our Saddle Lake Post Secondary Students, who is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Concordia University in Edmonton. The Scholarship that Dallas received on January 19, 2017, was the ATCO Indigenous Education Award based on her commitment to her education, leadership skills and role model qualities that can be recognized in the community.

RBC Future Launch Scholarship
for Indigenous Youth

The RBC Future Launch Scholarships for Indigenous Youth awards 20 scholarships annually worth up to $10,000 (for up to four years) to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students across Canada.

Manulife Life Lessons Scholarship Program for post-secondary students

Manulife has introduced the first Life Lessons Scholarship Program in Canada, for students who’ve experienced the death of a parent or guardian with little to no life insurance. The Scholarship Program helps combat the financial burden of paying for post-secondary education during an emotional time and recognizes the perseverance that so many youth show in such adversity.

The Shannon Bryan Memorial Scholarship

The Shannon Dawn Bryan Memorial Scholarship of $500 is open for applications until
May 30th, 2024.
